Design plays a critical role in a surprisingly wide range of industries. In this panel discussion we explore the design principles as they are used in the animation of scientific knowledge to educate and entertain, in 3D titanium printing and in science inspired art.
Accurately designed biomedical animations can aid the understanding of researchers, displaying processes otherwise unseen by the human eye. 3D printers means rapid prototyping and ever-changing designs are easily incorporated. Throughout the ages science has inspired artists and craftspeople. The visibility of design in our science and in our lives has never been higher.
